This is not a real estate article — it’s a story about a good restaurant that I went to a few months ago.
While I want to be wow’ed when I go to restaurants in New York City, too often I find myself disappointed. Generally, while there’s lots of buzz around certain restaurants, when I go to them, I find the prices to be high and the food just okay.
This is a brief review of a restaurant where I felt like the excitement of the restaurant matched the experience of it.
A few months ago, I went with my girlfriend and her friends to a place called Inga’s Bar, in Brooklyn Heights. It’s sort of tucked away from the main drag of the neighborhood, about a ten minute walk from the A train, on a quiet corner close to the waterfront.
The food was very tasty and flavorful — we split a burger and a mushroom pasta, both very good. We all each had one drink. I guess I wouldn’t say the menu wasn’t too different, but the food was flavor-full, the staff was nice, the restaurant had been renovated nicely. I have been to many New York City dining establishments this year – this was one of the only occasions where I recall thinking that the food matched the hype.
Like I said – I really want to have amazing experiences at New York City restaurants, but too often I find myself disappointed in both the food and the bill.
Inga’s Bar was not that. I’d recommend this establishment in Brooklyn Heights.
